Your Voice Matters: Employee Engagement Survey Launching March 28th

Our greatest resources at Washington State University are the dedicated faculty and staff whose daily efforts help our students succeed. Our employees teach, lead research and perform any number of crucial tasks propelling our great institution forward.

Because of what you do for WSU, it is worthwhile to occasionally ask how well WSU is doing supporting you. While no workplace is perfect, WSU strives for an organizational culture of integrity, trust and respect. We want the work that you do to be reflective of your professional abilities and aspirations.

Next week, employees will have an opportunity to share their thoughts in our second biennial Employee Engagement Survey. The online survey will launch on Monday, March 28, and remain open through Friday, April 8. It will be sent to all active faculty, classified and administrative professional employees.

I hope you will prioritize this quick but important task. The questionnaire takes about 15 minutes to complete. Individual’s responses and specific answers will be kept confidential.  Your responses to this survey help us gauge employee satisfaction and engagement as well as measure our progress on strategic goals that include creating opportunities for recognition, training and development, advancement and leadership.

All of us at WSU have a voice and important role shaping our workplace and our university as a place of excellence and integrity.

Introducing the inaugural employee survey two years ago, our late President Elson S. Floyd said: “It is not bricks and mortar that make Washington State University unique… rather, it is the dedicated people who work at our campuses, Extension offices, research centers and other facilities who truly create the essence and excellence of our great university.”

I couldn’t agree more. Your input is invaluable as we strive to always do better. I thank you in advance for completing the Employee Engagement Survey and for all that you do to make WSU an exciting and rewarding place to work and study.
