TRANSITION PLANNING

Cougar Compass

Providing a road map of engagement for Washington State University’s 12th president during a time of transition
Timeline

To effectively lead Washington State University as its 12th president, Dr. Elizabeth R. Cantwell has designed a transition initiative to gain insights, deepen understanding, and cultivate relationships across the WSU system. This process will provide opportunities to share knowledge, actively seek feedback, and promote involvement from the Cougar community to support strategic planning for long-term university success.

Transition Plan Objectives:

  • Establish a process for the new president to learn about Washington State University’s history, traditions, and the critical priorities and issues facing students, faculty, and staff in their various colleges and units.
  • Drive engagement with key university stakeholders including students, faculty, staff, donors, alumni, community and business leaders, legislators, and other members of the WSU community across the state of Washington and beyond.
  • Develop a prioritized list of strategic objectives and actionable initiatives that will guide presidential leadership in an effort to refine, enhance, and effectively operationalize the WSU System Strategic Plan.
