On July 1, 1989, the Washington Legislature created three new campuses of Washington State University, the state's land-grant university that had been established in Pullman in 1890. These three campuses are WSU Spokane, WSU Tri-Cities and WSU Vancouver. On November 19, 2004, the Washington State University Board of Regents adopted a set of principles for development of WSU as a multicampus system. This site provides information on the WSU system, its campuses, governance and administrative councils.
