Campus Arts Committee
Washington State law provides that: "That Washington State Arts Commission shall, in consultation with the Boards of Regents of... Washington State University, ... determine the money to be made available for the purchases of art under RCW 28B.10.027, and payment thereof shall be made in accordance with law. The designation of projects and sites, the selection, contracting, purchase, commissioning, reviewing of design, execution, and placement, acceptance, maintenance, and sale, exchange, or disposition of works of art shall be the responsibility of the Washington State Arts Commission in consultation with the Board of Regents or Trustees.
Functions:

Determines type of visual art appropriate to a construction project, reviews art objects submitted as proposals for projects, and makes recommendations to the Vice President for Business and Finance.

Serves as review committee, when appropriate, for the selection of artists, and makes recommendations to the Vice President for Business and Finance.

Reviews other art objects proposed for placement on the campus to ensure acceptable aesthetic quality and provide consistency among such art objects.
Composition and Tenure:

Seven faculty or administrative professional personnel, representing Architecture, Visual Arts, Art History, Art Education, and Capital Planning and Development, though membership is not exclusive to these disciplines, with three-year terms. (F-A/P-S)

A representative of the City of Pullman, with a three-year term, (non-WSU).

The Executive Director of Capital Planning and Development.

One student representative.
Chair is appointed by the President.
Responsible to: The President through the Vice President for Business and Finance.
Voting status is indicated with a #.
* The term the Executive Director of Capital
Planning and Development does not expire, although the
person in the position may vary.
