I was privileged to have the opportunity to outline Washington State University’s research vision for the future to members of Washington’s Clean Technology Alliance at their annual meeting.
Our university has a long and rich tradition of conducting critical research in support of Washington’s energy needs. For example, in the early 1930s WSU research played a key role in supporting the development of Grand Coulee Dam.
Today, we conduct leading research on such key clean technology issues as the development of third generation biofuels, the creation of environmentally friendly building materials, and the establishment of a complex electrical smart grid for reliably powering our nation.
